Rainbow Reads! LGBTQ Books for Pride Month 2024

Guest writer David Wright (he/him) is Associate Library Director for User Experience at the University of Southampton. With a career that spans over 30 years and includes work in public, special and academic libraries, he describes himself as an elder of the LGBTQ community who is as passionate now about diversity and inclusion as he was when he first came out as a gay man in the early 1980s. Here he recommends some reading especially for the PDA LGBT+ Network.

It’s Time to Address Discrimination: Standing up for Sitting Down

Today the PDA Ability Network is launching its ‘Standing up for Sitting Down’ campaign against disability discrimination. The network is encouraging members to exercise their rights by calling on employers to make appropriate reasonable adjustments and will also work with members to create a culture where there is zero tolerance for discrimination.

PDA Ability Network releases initial findings from the disability discrimination survey

In February 2024, the PDA Ability Network launched its disability discrimination survey to establish the extent of discrimination faced in the workplace by pharmacists who are disabled or live with a long-term health condition. Initial findings show that there is a lot of work to be done to make workplaces more inclusive.

PDA NAWP Network’s International Women’s Day event: Women and Inclusion in Pharmacy

The PDA NAWP Network hosted its annual International Women's Day event on Friday 8 March. As this year’s theme for International Women’s Day was inclusion the event focused on women and inclusion in pharmacy and allowed those in attendance to share their personal stories of discrimination while experiencing breast and cervical cancer.
