Breaking News – PDA Union step closer to gaining formal recognition with Boots

The PDA Union has had its application accepted for formal recognition and to represent Boots pharmacists for collective bargaining on pay, hours and holidays.

Fri 10th January 2014 PDA Union

The PDA union are delighted to announce that the Central Arbitration Committee has accepted our application for formal recognition with Boots and to represent Boots pharmacists for collective bargaining on pay, hours and holidays. However, this is by no means the end of the journey.

The Central Arbitration Committee’s decision means that they are satisfied that we meet the necessary criteria and can now progress to the next stage of the process. The PDA Union and Boots now have to agree who constitutes the bargaining unit. There is a 20 day statutory time limit for both parties to agree, and if they cannot, then the Central Arbitration Committee will decide.

The PDA Union has initiated contact with Boots and awaits a response. We are  currently working on what the most appropriate next steps will be to best support our members’  interests and we will keep members posted of developments. Further information will follow via email and news postings.

The PDA Union is committed to gaining formal recognition on behalf of Boots pharmacists and pre registration graduates to enhance their employment terms and working conditions and prevent further erosion of existing benefits. We thank you for your continuing support.
