Rhona made a significant contribution to the BPA, and after its merger with the PDA Union this year, she continued to oversee the BPA’s financial management to ensure an orderly closedown of BPA’s accounts and smooth transfer to the new arrangements.
Khuram Ahmad, former BPA Chairman said:
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of our dear colleague and friend Rhona. Rhona was the stalwart of our association — the quiet strength behind every well-planned event, every smoothly run meeting, and every member who felt supported and heard.
As our treasurer, she kept our accounts in impeccable order, but her contributions went far beyond the numbers. She worked tirelessly, not for recognition, but for the good of the members, her colleagues, and the organisation she cared so deeply about. Her legacy of dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment will not be forgotten.”
Mark Pitt, General Secretary of PDA Union added:
“Everyone at the PDA sends heartfelt condolences to Rhona’s family. We are also mindful that her loss will be felt by her professional colleagues, including those who worked alongside her for many years at the BPA.
The funeral will be on 7th August in Linlithgow and Rhona’s family have requested that rather than flowers anyone else that wishes to do so, may make a donation towards St Columba’s Hospice Care via this donation page: Tribute to Rhona Bennett, 1970 – 2025
